My aim is to support children on the autism spectrum and their families so that everyday challenges become easier to understand and manage. Difficult behaviour is often a message: it may be connected with sensory overload, communication difficulties, fear, change or an unmet need.
I encourage an ABC approach: look at what happened before the behaviour, describe the behaviour itself, and observe what happened afterwards. This helps identify patterns and choose solutions that are practical, respectful and adapted to the child.
